The Green Energy Economy

Economic Benefits

Through the Green Energy Act, Ontario has made a commitment to diversify its electricity generation, removing the need to rely on any single source. Energy from nuclear, wind, solar and hydro are all a part of Ontario's energy future. Pattern and Samsung are excited to work with the Kincardine community to build on its energy history and be a part of Ontario's new green energy economy.

Across Ontario

Samsung C&T, together with some of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, is making an unprecedented $7-billion private-sector investment in Ontario to create the largest cluster of wind and solar power anywhere on the planet. Thanks to Samsung's Green Energy Investment Agreement with the Government of Ontario, we will create 16,000 jobs, kick-start a new industry in Ontario and generate 2,500 megawatts of clean energy – enough to power 600,000 Ontario homes.

This is all thanks to some of the most ambitious legislation in North America, which has sent a powerful message to the world that Ontario is open for business and to new jobs and investment. Samsung is proud to put our expertise to work to create clean power – with real jobs, through real investment, benefitting real people across the province. Working together, we can put Ontario on the global clean energy map.
